Ray Pinker the forensics guy in the show is based on a real LAPD forensics expert by the same name. He's also portrayed in the video game 'LA Noir'

He's wearing a 50's Stetson Open Road fedora. Which is one of my favorite hats.

I can't help but stop listening to what they're saying after a few minutes and just hear the rhythm of the speech patterns.

The only way this could have been any whiter is if Lawrence Welk was the background music.

Don't forget the drug & hippie hysteria of the 1967 series.

Jack Webb would go on to produce, write & direct a 1970s series called "U.F.O." which was about two U.S. Air Force guys going around investigating U.F.O. sightings.

It was done basically the same as "Dragnet" except they were looking for possible alien invaders, not criminals. Near the end of every episode, the two guys would find evidence that the sighting was either a hoax or case of mistaken identity, then at the very end, after the case was closed, someone would find evidence it had been genuine, but either lost the evidence or never told anyone.

It was one of my favorite shows as a kid.
