Merak would have fit right in.

The Captain is one of my all-time favorite Doctor Who villains. Actually, he's just one of my all-time favorite villains. All the bluster was there to hide how brilliant and dangerous he really was. He even had the Doctor genuinely worried there for a bit.

I almost went with "Mister Fibuli" as my Internet alias.

Great episode....(or story..whatever)

Isn't this the only Douglas Adams written episode that actually said "by Douglas Adams" on the opening credits?

As I understand it, he helped on lots of other scripts, and he had several original ones he wrote himself, but he usually had one major scene (like having a huge roman building full of cats) that they couldn't pull off even with their low-budget FX.

He wrote City of Death, but chose to be credited anonymously under a pseudonym as he felt it was respectful to the guy who came up with the basic storyline, but was unable to fully finish the script due to personal problems.

That sounds like Adams. He had lots of funny/neat ideas, but finishing stuff wasn't really his strong suit.

He wrote "Shada" too, but wasn't happy with it. Luckily, he didn't have to worry about anybody seeing it...
