The guy who was paid unholy amounts of money to script films like Basic Instinct, Showgirls and...uh, Jade, yes that one didn't work out at all did it attempting to fulminate against the Hollywood Machine that keeps beasts like him employed.

I mean, most Hollywood 'satires' are ultimately toothless, trying to skewer slow, obvious targets while relying heavily on cliches and tropes about the business and their targets that were worn out already before talkies were developed and it often ends on a note of "Welp, that's Hollywood for ya? Aren't we just a bunch of kooky colorful characters?"
