I recall, years ago on some MST3K forum, some overly smarmy type claimed that this song was key evidence that Michael J. Nelson had a seething disdain for blue-collar wrokers (along with the Ilya Morumetz works at IHOP sketch from 'Sword and the Dragon'), which went to his grand unified theory of how the show stank when Nelson became host. Which he never tired of bringing up in any discussion.

Or maybe he's, you know, making fun of the janitor character in the movie that was in this episode (Teenage Strangler). Just a thought some might want to consider.
