I don't quite understand this whole complete version stuff. i thought the track was fine before anyway. I guess some JD fans just really wish they had more material to listen to, so any minor differences in versions is lauded.

The version was missing the last verse up until they found this tape in 2011 or so. No version existed with Curtis singing the rather creepy in hindsight "hangman" verse since the only known version of this recording (included in the Heart and Soul box set) cut off at that point. I know it's fashionable to hate Hook but there were folks pretty sure he'd just been sitting on it because even he realized how creepy this was to release, and 30 years was long enough. I'm just amazed at the sound, since most JD things outside the studio sounded terrible.
