Every four seconds?

Caffeine + camera work = vomit.

Rotating shaky cam and Van Damme-style triple cuts of the same second of footage is what the late 80's to early 90's contributed to cinema.

I used to think it would be awesome to work for Nintendo, especially if you were one of the pro's. But, growing older, I can only imagine the torment those poor people had to go through trying to explain to 8 year olds how to beat Ninja Gaiden while knowing they'll never be able to do it.

I was at a party last week with a couple of people who currently work for Nintendo. The company has embraced the Microsoft model of a two-tier, permanent temp workforce. Said temps kept referring to the era this video was made like it was the golden age.

They probably got that radical Donkey Kong Country promo tape from Nintendo Power and took it as gospel.

I remember that tape from Nintendo Power. I don't remember why I got Nintendo Power Magazine, though, because I hardly ever bought actual Nintendo games.

"The evils have landed! Repeat, the evils have landed!"

When I was a kid, I abused the hell out of the tip line until Nintendo moved the reps off those phones and replaced them with an automated system that only helped with current games.

One time when my friend spent the night we asked the phone rep how much money he made...and he actually told us. ($ 8 an hour.) In retrospect, I like to think he was nearing the end of his two week notice.

"Well we target boys 9-14 years old..."

There's a Catholic Church joke in there somewhere.

HOW WE DO IT:

Well for starters, we have a receptionist. She will direct your call. PLAYING WITH POWER!

I want to know what "Starfox Weekend" was. I'm guessing some kind of godless bacchanal of sheer debauchery, where everyone wore animal masks, the coke and booze were neverending, and no one went home unimpregnated. Also they had trust exercises.

If you were a Nintendo child in the early 90's, Nintendo Power was awesome. Unless you were wise for your age, then you might have realized they were monthly installments of Nintendo sucking their own dicks and controlling sales of the licensees who were naughty or nice to them.
