Rotating shaky cam and Van Damme-style triple cuts of the same second of footage is what the late 80's to early 90's contributed to cinema.

I was at a party last week with a couple of people who currently work for Nintendo. The company has embraced the Microsoft model of a two-tier, permanent temp workforce. Said temps kept referring to the era this video was made like it was the golden age.

They probably got that radical Donkey Kong Country promo tape from Nintendo Power and took it as gospel.

I remember that tape from Nintendo Power. I don't remember why I got Nintendo Power Magazine, though, because I hardly ever bought actual Nintendo games.

When I was a kid, I abused the hell out of the tip line until Nintendo moved the reps off those phones and replaced them with an automated system that only helped with current games.

One time when my friend spent the night we asked the phone rep how much money he made...and he actually told us. ($ 8 an hour.) In retrospect, I like to think he was nearing the end of his two week notice.
