Perfect use of schadenfreude tag.

Also: younger, bearded Jack Abramoff at 1:19 looks remarkably like David Wallace from the American version of The Office.

What's left out of this is Abramoff's relationships with Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist, going back to College Republicans. You can see Ralph Reed at 02:13, second from the left.

So judging from that shot of his home at the end, even after being prosecuted, serving time and being something like 25 million in debt he's still living more comfortably than I or my hardworking, lower middle class parents ever have (and still seems proud of how he did what he did, even if he supposedly regrets doing it). 5 for evil.

That's quite an arc for Jack. At his best, his personal halcyon days were spent kissing ass and cheating indians, while having no actual power himself. Now, at his second bump in life, he is a squirreled away small business accountant bleeding money back to the indians.

His autobiography probably saw respectable if not large sales numbers (there's actually an ad for it at the top of the page), to say nothing of the amount the publisher probably paid him to write it.

Crime pays pretty well if you're rich and white to begin with. I'm sure "broke" only refers to the assets he didn't manage to hide.

Boss Jim Gettys: You're the greatest fool I've ever known, Kane. If it was anybody else, I'd say what's going to happen to you would be a lesson to you. Only you're going to need more than one lesson. And you're going to get more than one lesson.
