all the recent talk about wealth inequality will not achieve anything

the robbery of the american economy by the rich will continue unhindered for the forseeable future
Cena_mark - 2013-03-03
With your attitude it will.

Gmork - 2013-03-03
Not with that attitude. And certainly not with this pussified "disarm everybody" mentality. Empires were made to topple, I just hope it happens after i'm gone.

jangbones - 2013-03-03
HAH morons

Gmork - 2013-03-04
I'm a moron? No, I submit you're the unthinking moron. The world has never evolved past the same mentalities that have caused previous inequities, ending badly for many countries' populace but ultimately overthrowing or replacing the infrastructure. At which point things will be pretty sweet and ran by idealistic people for a few generations until it ultimately devolves back into the same imbalanced, shitty system thanks to the inevitable corruption man is inherently incapable of suppressing. The amount of time the government exists and functions past the point of inequity is proportional to the amount of resources a country's government has at its disposal. People are getting pretty pissed, and not just nutjobs. Of course me and cena commenting simultaneously is undeniably funny, I must point out i'm a liberal on any subject you could possibly name and pretty much the only divergent issue is gun control. Personally I think people who share your opinion are idiots, but I don't blame you for not being interested in a bunch of moldy old history books!

Anyways point is we should just be ran by robots. It's for our own good.

FABIO - 2013-03-04
It could disillusion enough conservatives to stay home on voting day.

"I'm a liberal on any subject you could possibly name..."

If I'm not mistaken you're the idiot who said an Alaskan gay rights issue wasn't worth taking 30 seconds to learn about because it couldn't possibly affect you. (I remember because I was so utterly offended by your atrocious lack of concern for basic rights of other people in your own fucking country.) Some fucking liberal...

Gmork - 2013-03-04
You're definitely mistaken, and hilariously so at that.

asian hick - 2013-03-06
Then what's this?

"And hick, why would I read up on the bill at all since i'm neither gay nor an alaskan? That's nice it took you five minutes. It would take me five minutes to jerk off and the act would be equally pointless."

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-03-03
And the Libertarians will chant that their masters earned every penny, all up to and beyond the point where we're all subjects in basically a kind of corporate feudalism.

Oh, and they'll still blame the government for everything. Just 'cause.
The Mothership - 2013-03-03
pretty good.....

Remember, kids. It's only redistribution if it goes downhill.
Binro the Heretic - 2013-03-04
This will have to end badly. there is no other way.

It's going to be ugly, brutal and senseless. Innocent people will suffer the most and the worst offenders, the people who sucked up the most wealth and did the most harm to the economy, will never feel any harm or have to answer for their wrongdoings.

There will be riots with pigs cracking skulls with impunity. There will be a resurgence in all kinds of hate and bigotry. The meager gains we've made in civil rights will be erased by a wave of fear and rage directed against the wrong people.

There will be greed and hoarding amidst need and starvation. There will be fortresses of prosperity surrounded by collapse and ruin.

If we're extremely lucky, it may take only one or two generations for the country to claw its way back to something civilized.

sounds like a Greg Bear novel

As per usual, the comments.

Ooooooh boy. The comments.

press "show comment updates" and it's like watching a stock ticker of HUGALHUGALHULGHLAUH on any subject you could name.

Fish gotta' swim, birds gotta' fly, America gotta' rape the earth and leave us all dead in the gutta'.

If you don't like it, kill yourself, we have no other planet and this shit isn't changeable without the same system of mass death and ruin of everything those with power are willing to dish out to us to keep that power.

Look in the mirror, your value is actually, literally, ZERO in America. I hope you all have a religion that gives you some kind of cosmic importance, because you will never have any in the actual world.

Being a conservative makes you a tool of oppression, being liberal makes you a victim of it. Being American just means you're shit with no future.

Have a nice day.
Gmork - 2013-03-04
Please do kill yourself. Thanks for missing every important point on morality mankind has ever made.

Gmork - 2013-03-04
All youve said is you agree that money is the only value. Zero value monetarily is apparently the same as zero value intrinsically as a human being, otherwise you'd have said it less retardedly. So go and backpedal, or be super edgy and keep going forward with your hateful rhetoric. Either choice still makes you a cunt.

memedumpster - 2013-03-04
I see you have that religion we talked about. "Morality" is a hilarious word coming from the man who demands the "right" to shoot people.

Money is the source of value in America, if you want a different source of that value for your own estimation of self, you will have to make it up in your own mind. It doesn't exist in three dimensional space and the one direction in time of the actual world.

You talk to me like I instated and enforce this American way of life when I wouldn't piss on it if it was on fire. Sorry. It's easier to be mad at me than do something, isn't it?

Gmork - 2013-03-04
Lots of incorrect assumptions, the biggest one being you're not just another waste of resources that does nothing for the world.

Hard to feel bad about anything you say when you so wilfully project your own moral worthlessness.

If morality is a made-up concept to you, no wonder it's so easy for you to ignore it. It's real, I'm afraid. And you're on the other side of it.

Gmork - 2013-03-04
My value system does not revolve around money. Yours does, apparently. I have nothing more to say to someone so pathetic and bitter as yourself.

memedumpster - 2013-03-04
So we agree that life has no intrinsic value, because you obviously see none in mine. All I'm saying is that in THE REAL WORLD outside my control and opinions, life's value is determined by money in the hands of other people.

Your determination of my life's value (which is zero) is as irrelevant as if you thought I was the best human ever, simply because you lack the money to enforce that against the opinions of others. At best, you might acquire the MONEY to get a gun and kill me, but then my life was worth the value of the ammo and the wear and tear on the parts, plus, I suppose, minimum wage for your time.

You can't escape money, your whole moral high ground doesn't exist without it. Not for a microsecond.

Your value system revolves around angrily lashing out at anything which disagrees with you on the Internet to the point where you angrily agree with the other person as a form of arguing. Without money, you'd have no access to the Internet and me to yell at.

Ha ha ha.

So much vitriol up above me.
Let me just say that I think this video did a good job. It's a reality that most Americans don't believe exists or is possible, and I think it needs to be presented easily and visually.
I wonder what % it has to get before we get a revolution? 50% to the 1%? 60? I doubt it'll get that far, because we are working on an increasingly more educated lower class, despite best Republican efforts to the contrary. And, if we stop feeding our gob long enough to notice, maybe we'll do something about it.
