This game is going to be laughably bad. In taste and gameplay.
Gail Simone wrote him the best, when his series was slated for cancellation. Her arc, and the short-lived spinoff Agent X that followed it, is pure comic book fun. Still my favorite run of any series.
After Agent X was cancelled due to lack of sales, Simone was laid off and she eventually ended up at DC. Deadpool was resurrected and paired with Cable, in a series so impossibly bad that I pretty much gave up on comic books.
Still: buy Deadpool's Four Winds arc. It is just a delight.

When did Deadpool become this dipshit character? I'm seriously asking. I remember roughly when he was introduced and I actually have the first few issues of his original solo series somewhere stashed away in my comic collection, and I honestly don't remember this dumb, herp derp garbage being part of the character when I used to read the X-series.
I was thinking the same thing. I loved his original run, he was cool, calm, collected, but alittle chatty, and liked to throw out quips. Whenever he would get on a roll, it was fun. Then someone told marvel, now they think that's what we liked from the character, not that he was a professional-esque assassin with Wolverine's healing factor and some quick wit.
I guess this is what they think wit is.

Deadpool as a videogame character clearly peaked in Marvel VS Capcom 3 when they gave him a super move where he pries the super meter off the game UI and bludgeons his opponent with it.

How did deadpool go from snarky quips to outright being a clown bouncing around the screen?

I don't think even my 8 year old self would find this very amusing.
