BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

EvilHomer - 2013-03-12

Hey Boomer, if you're reading this, is this how you eat every day? Or do you only do this on special occasions?

Also is that dog food?

Sudan no1 - 2013-03-12

Boomer, there are some dogs that eat at tables. You don't have to live this way.

subduralhematoma - 2013-03-12

I think it's time we put ol Boomer on a diet. And when's the last time anybody gave him a bath?

Blue - 2013-03-13

For some reason I want to wash his hair. Well, that's an unexpected set of mental images.

I think I have a crush.

Wander - 2013-03-13

I don't even care, Boomer is the man.

fedex - 2013-03-13

I thought Boomer was the dog. Oh wait, Boomer thinks Boomer is the dog.

James Woods - 2013-03-13

Oh, fuck you. Fuuuuuuck you.

Mister Yuck - 2013-03-13

Oh man, this is making me feel nostalgic.

wtf japan - 2013-03-13

I keep waiting for these guys to turn into Eumenides, but it never happens.

Blue - 2013-03-13

Boomer is awesome. I don't even know why. Something that I found out about him after he was featured on POE RED.

EvilHomer - 2013-03-13

I think it's his attitude. He's just so nice and straightforward about the whole thing.

Most internet dog people you see are pretty creepy. They're angry and hostile and they set off all kinds of mental rape alarms. But not Boomer. Boomer is happy and friendly and, crazy as this sounds, really quite self-actualized. He's quirky, sure, but he strikes me as someone who's really at peace with his identity; he knows who he is, and if you support him, cool, if you don't, hey that's cool too. That raging ball of fuckedupness that powers weirdos like DalHusky or EbonLupus just isn't there; Boomer is the dog bodhisattva.

EvilHomer - 2013-03-13

It's not just that, either; in many ways, I think he's saner than I am. He certainly seems to get more fulfillment out of life than I do, and while I can't speak for everyone, I think most of us here are similarly below Boomer in an existential sense. From a strictly scientific standpoint, I'm not entirely convinced that he actually IS a dog, but he sure does seem to own and *fit* his identity, in a way that I've never felt with any of my own. And that's awesome, even enviable! He's a... he's a transspeciesist. Like a transsexual, only a dog. A postop, fully empowered, living as a novelist in Tijuana transspeciesist, wings spread and soaring above the clouds.

Sometimes I imagine a child Boomer the Dog, watching the real Boomer the dog on TV during a time of grief, stress and sadness in his life. I feel that Boomer's carefree existence of zero consequence mischief was a perfect fantasy, one that still carries Boomer into an alternate plane of existence to this day.

Syd Midnight - 2013-03-15

Boomer was one of the few cases where furrydom seemed to genuinely suit him, as opposed to being a desperation hobby. Like he'd have existed even if the internet and furries didn't. And that makes him a rare gem.

kingofthenothing - 2013-03-13

Whatever makes you happy, dog.

I think I might take up homeless man roleplaying.

themilkshark - 2013-03-23

It's very immersive.

Father Avalanche - 2013-03-13

I wonder if he's been fixed.

memedumpster - 2013-03-13

Boomer is better than all of us, since he'd never parade us around out of sadistic boredom as a passive amusement.

Five stars.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-03-17

Jon the Dog and Boomer the Dog should collaborate.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-04-04

I don't know how I missed this on the main page, I try to check it every day for the latest videos. I even come here more than to The Onion, Cracked and all of that.

Yes, it's real Dog food, no I don't eat it all of the time, just when I get the urge to feel a little more Doggy. I thought to myself that I'd eaten Dog food before, but never saw what it looked like from an outside perspective, so I set the camera up on a little tripod and filmed towards the Dog dishes. Later I thought I'd post it because people ask if I do eat Dog food.

What I do is get the dishes out and serve the food and fill the water, like an owner would, and then put it on the floor and get down with it to eat as the pooch.

I remember when my site was on Poe Red and Skippy was featured. That seems like so long ago now.

Yeah I'd be around without the net and Furries, I was a Dog before I ever knew about that stuff, years before. I did feel lonely though in a way, I never met anybody else who was even close to being another animal. I was wearing my collar and tag, and had the fantasy that someone would confide in me, 'I'm one too, like you, a Dog', and I'd have a Dog buddy.

When I found Furries I thought they were all like me, just different animals, but if they have those feelings, most won't admit it, even when Furry surveys ask if you think you're something other than Human. Lots of Furs say yes..

I did watch a lot of Here's Boomer shows and I loved it. One part of it was I was there right at the beginning. I was at my aunt's house reading her TV Guide, when I saw the ad for the pilot show, A Christmas For Boomer.

I knew I had to see it, it did sound like it was going to be a great show! I had my aunt save the TV Guide, and I got the page out of it later, and I still have it too.

I had wanted to be other Dogs before, like Pongo from 101 Dalmatians, Lady and The Tramp, Benji and a local Dog named Muffin. I think that Here's Boomer was right for me though because he didn't have a home, but still had lots of fun and adventures, and was nice and friendly.

The other Dogs I liked were all about family and having puppies and stuff, but I had that family experience already and wanted more adventure and to see the world, so Boom was a better fit.

I was also 'becoming a Dog' and could see being a tramp Dog on the street since I was having run-ins with the school and my parents over what I was trying to be. So much really cool Dog realization and 'first times' for things happened in that year too.

Ya gotta do what ya love, kid.

EvilHomer - 2013-04-04

Yeah, I was surprised when you didn't respond to this video. Usually you're really on top of things like this; glad to see you're OK.

How is the name change thing going?

Boomer The Dog - 2013-04-06

I had my links set to Poe-News at the time, and didn't come to the TV side so I was missing all of the videos.. ;)

I'm kind of stalled on the name change thing at the moment, I have to get some things settled first, so I can apply again. Things need to align once more.

There's still media interest in my name change, so I'm hoping that when I get there that someone will film it and then you can see what it's about. Most people don't know much about this basic right we all have!

Thanks Billy the Poet.. I looked up Jon The Dog too, she's pretty cool with her old time Dog costumes and music. I'd love to do stage shows with another Dog character like that, I just don't know what we'd do, I'd have to play bass or something, learn a few chords and how to play them with my paws in costume. She has her act down, so if we got together the act might have be all different.

I went to shows with Everything is Terrible called Doggiewoggiez! Poochiewoochiez! last year. Those had several Dogs on stage and it worked as characters interacting, as a play. I got involved a little too on stage as a guest Dog, but not in costume. I took my costume to the closing show they did, and wore it for them after the show.

There were people filming it, so videos of that event might be around, Bloomington Indiana. Great guys who were living Dog stuff for a year to do that show, and it was a perfect fit for me, it was all of the Canine media stuff I love, obscure puppy B-movies, and paying for stuff with Bark Bucks and everything. I can't bark enough how great of an experience that was!
