I'll buy however many copies it takes for them to do this to Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers.
What I wouldn't give to throw my friends into cacti in HD...

Finally, a version of this game without charm.
I'd have preferred all hand drawn environments instead of the 3D area with 2D sprite thing. So far Paper Mario is the only game that's done that in a way I like. Still, the gameplay looks unchanged from the original NES game, so I think I can get into it.
I am very excited for this game. I can understand how the 3D elements (like the cake, for instance) look pretty awful combined with the wonderful 2D cartoon sprites. Hopefully this is something they change/correct. If not, I do not give a shit.

Oh sure, they'll redo this game but they won't bother to finish the final installment of Megaman Legends, even when it's already half written.
ALSO WHY DOESN'T THE NEW STREET FIGHTER GAME SUCK MY COCK AND DO MY DISHES FOR ME. CAPCOM HATES ITS FANS.
Capcom doesn't know why it's fans buy their products, they keep thinking it's for the wrong reasons.

I hate to think that I enjoyed a game that Cliffy B did too.

The Moon Stage's theme will be guitar-powered and entirely done by Dragonforce.

I was talking to my friend just last night that I'm sick of all these HD remakes. Nintendo is porting Wind Waker to the Wii U, Sony is rereleasing just about every decent PS2 game in the hops of giving the PS3 a decent library, Square just announced the first Kingdom Hearts game for the HD generation... Kingdom Hearts 1 HD. It's an annoying trend that needs to die.
This, however, is something I'm okay with. The amount of effort that's going into this remake, from the design all the way to the soundtrack as Mongo pointed out, it's so much more than a quick and sloppy port. Even in the trailer you can see how much effort they've put in and how much fun they've had with it.
Hell, the endorsement from Tim Schafer? Stars for that alone!
I think you're missing the point of HD remakes. Have you tried playing PS2 games on a modern tv?
I love HD remakes. The only reason I don't play my PS3 library is because they look like fucking eye cancer on a modern television. And quite frankly, I haven't enjoyed many games this gen more than games I played last gen.
I'm looking more forward to Kingdom Hearts HD and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD than I am any new upcoming title.
I get your point, but really, I'd rather Square just make Kingdom Hearts 3 for fuck's sake instead of re-releasing all the old ones.
On that note, why the hell is the remake just KH1 and that shitty card based game's remake? Every other HD collection on the PS3 is usually the full set of games. I'm pretty sure they left 2 out so they can sell it again as well.

I was at PAX East yesterday, and they were showing this game off.
It had like the 5th longest line in the place.
Seriously the line was over an hour and a half.
I'm curious, what were the longest lines?

I'm sorry, I played this game as a kid but don't remember it being anything amazing. Is it just the apex of Disney Afternoon nostalgia for the Ducktales property itself? Will we get a Tailspin based Crimson Skies clone next? A Gooftroop RPG? A Bonkers open world shooter?
When it came out, every franchise in the world was trying to have it's own video game, and franchised video games were typically awful. The idea of the franchised game was more important than making a good game, because kids would still want their parents to buy the Simpsons/Swamp Thing/MacDonalds/Saturday Morning Cartoon video game.
Then Capcom came out, and made a series of cute, fun games that were pretty good.
And they were from the fucking Disney franchise. At the time, I can remember video game magazines acting like this was a fucking miracle.
Basically, Ducktails won the gold at the special olympics. That was the year that every other retard competing shot themselves in the head, (and because of the tragedy, people are ignoring the memory), but everyone still wants to remember that Ducktails won the gold.
