The cops aren't all that brutal, at least not by cop standards, and these arrests rarely (if ever) result in convictions, so I guess we needn't bleed our hearts too much.

The show's more about publically slut-shaming elderly pedophiles than making them pay for whatever it is they supposedly did.

The show's creators admitted that in most occasions, the decoy is the one who started talking about sex.

These people are sick and disgusting, sure, but they are not being caught for something they did, they are being caught for something they are being led to do through an incredibly elaborate and improbable scheme that is specifically designed to cater to their most disgusting compulsions.

It's kind of like a show whose concept is to lead people who have been off crack and are in NA to do crack again by just dangling it front of them for days and then when they take some crack they realize it's not real crack and everyone goes "LOL you crazy crackie!" except worse.

I think most of us feel that way. This show was a perfect storm of awful people doing awful things to other awful people with the help of awful police and awful media.

About her passing for 13 ... she looks early 20s to me (and needs to take better care of her skin). I have to believe there's a defense in there somewhere.

There didn't need to be, the police disregarded procedure so completely to make it look good on TV that not a dingle person was successfully charged with anything, they just publicly shamed them (now they've got a lot less to lose by acting out their desires) and drove one to suicide, all for the sake of ratings, ad revenue and Hansen's ego. In many ways it's the perfect 21st century TV show.

Yeah, there's plenty of defenses. What they don't really tell you on the show is that the typical Perverted Justice sting ends with the entire case being thrown out of court for a combination of entrapment, police misconduct, and lack of anything to charge them with.

There was that one episode where Chris Hansen showed up in Lazytown and shot Pedobear just as he was about to kidnap Stephanie, but other than that, the only thing TCAP accomplished was getting ratings and causing a suicide or two.

And that dropping the ball on the arrest procedures not only forced the DA's office to drop all the cases, but flood the streets of a small Texas town with released alleged pedophiles?
