It's not like Idiocracy invented that joke in the first place. It's been passed around in various forms, usually when someone's getting a colonoscopy or enema, for decades at least.
It's like you found the only criticism of Scary Movie 5 which isn't legitimate.

fluffy - 2013-04-15 also since when is the Scary Movie series anything but dumb parodies and pop culture references to begin with?
I mean the original was a parody of Scream, which was ALREADY A PARODY.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-04-15
FIVE.
WHY ARE THERE FIVE OF THESE NOW.
ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER FUCKAWFUL ____ MOVIE SPINOFFS (TUMORS WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE)
Can we start a "why Americans hate themselves" tag? And stars for still getting a rise out of me, I guess.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-04-15 Because they cost like to make and every year is a new batch of 12 year-olds with terrible taste because they are children.

EvilHomer - 2013-04-15 Who makes these, anyway? Are the _____ Movies all done by the same people?

Hammer Falls - 2013-04-15 The Weinstein Company formed after the Weinsteins split from Miramax. While they had a substantial amount of money from their Miramax years to fund the company, they did not make much money with their releases for a while. They would get critical acclaim sometimes ("The Artist") but not much money. Around the beginning of 2012, since they did have some loyal directors and producers that followed them to the new company, they decided to resurrect a bunch of long dormant franchises they had at Miramax to hopefully make some commercial money. That's why you had "Why are they bothering?" things like "Scream 4", "Spy Kids 4", possibly another "Sin City" if they ever work it out, and this. And this one, believe it or not, was being made for 5 years.
They finally struck some gold with "Django Unchained", so maybe these will stop.

spikestoyiu - 2013-04-15 I feel like it's probably worth noting that even these movies have become fractured. Marlon Wayans was involved in the first couple of "Scary Movie" films, had some sort of falling out or some shit I don't know and then made "A Haunted House". And while making sure I had my facts straight on IMDB, I discovered that he's in the process of making a second one. So now we have two simultaneous horror movie spoof franchises.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-04-15
Idiocracy was a stupid dick and fart joke movie that made an entire generation of smug privileged white dudes think that eugenics was a good idea, I support anything that devalues the film and angers its fans.

That guy - 2013-04-15 "an entire generation of smug privileged white dudes think that eugenics was a good idea"
Yeah, that's what Idiocracy did, it made "an entire generation of smug privileged white dudes think that eugenics was a good idea".
Any questions, anybody? WHO WANTS DESSERT already has his Hyperbolizer 9000 fired up.

themilkshark - 2013-04-15 WHO WANTS DESSERT must've been one of the studio execs who made it direct to DVD.

BHWW - 2013-04-15 "I rest my case."
And? Are you assuming everyone who responded to you is a smug white male? Your stereotyping of PoE-News posters is hurtful and Othering! Physician, heal thyself.

They couldn't even change the delivery up even a little?
It still doesn't top them recycling their own jokes from previous movies. The "Brad and Angelina adopt a lot of kids" one comes to mind.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-04-15
I liked "Idiocracy" and like Mike Judge in general, but the guy does tend to look down on the poor. He seems to link economic success to intelligence in all his work.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-04-21
Both of these films support the belief that stupid people are evil.
