is always standing by.

At the absolute worst we're going to get updated ports of the original game and months of entertainment from Randy Pitchford making an ass of himself and fucking everything up.
I mean, remember when people were bitching about the XCOM FPS and we wound up getting a pretty great strategy game out of the deal?
First Gearbox came for Duke Nukem,
and I didn't speak out because I preferred Quake & Blood to Duke Nukem.
Then they came for Aliens,
and I didn't speak out because I thought the E3 2011 walkthrough demo looked totally awesome.
Then they came for the Homeworld,
and for what good it'll do, you better believe I'm speaking out.
Gearbox bungled BL2 & I'm not sure they'll ever get their act together.

So between this and Aliens: Colonial Marines, Gearbox is pretty much actively hunting down and violently murdering my favorite properties

I don't get why people hate Gearbox so much. Granted, my experience with Gearbox is fairly limited; the only Gearbox title I've really played is Borderlands, but the first game was really well done, and Borderlands 2 is probably the best FPS game released in the past couple years. And Homeworld, I never really cared for Homeworld (it's not a terrible series, just not really my thing), so I guess I'm having a hard time freaking out over this.
Why is this going to be a disaster?
Their work on Duke Nukem Forever and Colonial Marines isn't inspiring much hope.
Basically, it seems like Gearbox has put most of their effort into the two Borderlands titles and then sort of treated everything else like 3rd, 4th, or 5th priority. Duke Nukem's awfulness was not entirely their fault, but details that have come out about the game since its release have revealed that a lot of the things they were directly responsible for they tried to blame on 3D Realms. With Colonial Marines, they apparently started it with good intentions, then sandbagged it in favor for putting 90% of their studio efforts into Borderlands 2, while CM got mostly farmed out to other, smaller studios.
Yeah, borderlands 2 isn't really much of an FPS. And the game is now broken, regardless. Any baby can point a gun, especially with you introduce forgiving RPG elements.

But can I slap the mothership's titties around and piss in a toilet?
You have to buy DLC for that.

The artist that did the soundtrack to the original did it for Strike Suit Zero. It's just as good and the game is pretty decent, similiar feel but as a mech game.

Paradox almost got the rights!? They're the last developers that know how to make a good strategy game!
I've tried Hearts of Iron and Pride of Nations and disagree.
Since the people who made the original Myth 1 and 2 aren't with Bungie anymore, except jason jones. Although I have no idea who paradox is or what game youre referring to. I gave up on strategy after everyone followed the same dumb starcraft/CnC formula, not a whole lot of games in an era i give a shit about or with the maneuverability and micromanagement I require in an RTS.
