Signs of schizophrenia: uploads more than zero Youtube videos about being "gang stalked".
chumbucket - 2013-05-06
not sure that any of those symptoms are "positive"
sasazuka - 2013-05-06
"Positive" doesn't necessarily mean "good", "positive" in this case means roughly "things the schizophrenic person perceives above and beyond normal perceptions" (re: hallucinations as well as paranoia and delusions of persecution).

Ah ok, I'm learning.

Or maybe I should have said that "positive" is merely things the schizophrenia adds, the hallucinations and delusions plus other manifestations like disorganized, rambling speech (and writing, not covered in the video), which you can easily see in Gail Chord Schulers/Gabrielle Chana's videos and websites (as well as that homeless woman in San Diego who posts Youtube videos on channels like "ExposeSocialServices").

"Negative" is more things that schizophrenia can take away, like motivation as well as the capability to take care of one's self/hold down a job, loss of social skills, and, in some cases, also the ability to express themselves well verbally (the opposite of the word salads some other schizophrenics like Gail express; schizophrenia can have opposite effects on different people in that regard).

"Positive" is also a lot easier to diagnose than "negative". The "negative" effects can be similar to those of many other psychological disorders like depression.

If you think about it, the schizos have cried wolf so hard the government might be thinking "Hey, we can probably get away with totally stalking people (although, for reasons other than making sure TIs dont have their Diet Schwepps)

My favorite schizophrenic from my clinical rotation was a guy who, in the middle of a frisbee game, just started shouting "you can't catch me, motherfucker! You can't catch me, motherfucker!" And ran top speed, frisbee in hand, about 100 yards to the front gate of the state hospital with a half dozen fat psych techs trailing after him where he then hopped the fence and took off down the street laughing. My notes for the day were all smiles. They got him back in about ten minutes though.
