I had to work in an office where a guy played G. Gordon's tripe-filled talk radio show.
How he got paid to be on the air, even during the heyday of right-wing talk radio, was baffling. He'd spend half his show perusing the underwear ads in the New York Times, telling the audience how "crazy" they made him. He spent an hour in the bathroom with one of his lackeys teaching this schlub the "proper" way to shave with a straight razor (a perfect how-to for radio). Then he'd page through a news magazine or paper and read out headlines and a few lines from articles that for some reason miffed him and say in what I suppose was supposed to be an angry tone of voice, "Oh, BOY!"
I mean, the whole thing where he told people how to shoot an ATF agent must've been a high medication day, because most of the time he sounded like he didn't really know what he was supposed to be doing.
