Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson are like the Ira Levin novelization interpretation of Jack Lemmon and Walter Mathau. All the mechanics are there, only it came back... different.

GOOGLE VINCE VAUGHN

poopy - 2013-06-07

ick

Hooker - 2013-06-07

I like how the subtext of this is how awesome Google is.

simon666 - 2013-06-07

...in 2005.

EvilHomer - 2013-06-07

Hopefully this will convince the fence-sitters that Google is full-on evil now. Not one company has released a two hour long piece of adutainment and kept their face credentials.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

If this were actually a period movie set in 2003 or 2004 it would still suck but it would be far less of an embarassment for everyone involved.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

I used to think Google didn't go full on evil until around the turn of the millennium but I'm pretty confident now that they were a datamining operation run by messaianic transhumanists bent on immanentizing the eschaton singularity from day one.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

I knew PoeTV didn't display HTML in posts, but I though it would at least show the tags if you used them as a dopey joke. "Eschaton" is supposed to be in strikethrough tags in that post.

Grandmaster Funk - 2013-06-07

Who would watch this?

The New Meat - 2013-06-07

Parents.

This is the sort of movie that I end up seeing everytime I visit my family because no one can agree on anything and mom doesn't like anything with robots or explosions in it and dad just wants to see something that's been marketed as a comedy and they've both heard of Owen Wilson. After the movie, dad will inexpliccably declare that he didn't like the movie but he's still glad they made it because it promotes good moral values.

So yeah, it's basically our fault they keep making these.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-06-07

Crappy watered down comedy. Bringing families together since Three Men and a Baby.

The New Meat - 2013-06-07

America goes nuts for non-jokes delivered with an Indian accent.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

At least we get people of actual Indian descent to deliver them now, instead of Fisher Stevens in brownface.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-06-07

This is going to be like The Love Guru of computer themed comedy movies.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

Which are already categorically the The Love Guru of comedies that aren't literally The Love Guru.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2013-06-07

Well the Onion got me that time. I sincerely thought they hired Owen Wilson and that other dude to make that Internship piece.

Nikon - 2013-06-07

Same here. I didn't think it was a real movie.

The God of Biscuits - 2013-06-07

This was filmed at Georgia Tech. They had our fancy undergraduate study building decorated as a google building for a montho or two. It was weird and the school didn't even get to keep any cool souveniers :(

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

I used to know someone who worked in an MIT run video game design lab across the hall from Google's Cambridge office. Even with the door closed (it always was), that Google office always radiated a heavy odor of slightly spoiled Campbell's soup about 10 feet down the hallway outside.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

Can we get some of the more choice Youtube comments in here? They're... illuminating.

I saw this in the theatre, and when Dylan came up I scream so loudly. I was NOT prepared for O'Brien in nerd glasses, a beanie, and his snark. I almost got kicked out cause I couldn't calm down.

The New Meat - 2013-06-07

"His snark?"

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-07

The entire first page is pretty much variations on "OMG LOOK IT'S DYLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" almost in so many words.

The Mothership - 2013-06-07

who's Dylan?

sosage - 2013-06-07

I thought Owen Wilson was better than this...

Spaceman Africa - 2013-06-07

he hasn't been "better than this" since Shanghai Noon

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-06-07

I bet Owen Wilson will do that one confused expression a lot, you know, the one he does.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-06-07

Even the Jack and Jill trailer made me laugh in shame of witnessing something so terrible and unfunny.

This, however, was like watching Christian stand-up.
