Or, alternately, purchase a competitor's console.

misterbuns - 2013-06-13

:D

Toenails - 2013-06-13

ayup.

IrishWhiskey - 2013-06-13

You know if they weren't aware they had competitors, that would explain a lot.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-06-13

The console industry is a ship sailing full-on towards an iceberg, and the crew of that ship feels like the iceberg is the one obligated to get out of the way.

Scrimmjob - 2013-06-13

I bet they will be fine, people love spending their money on stupid shit they don't need, or even want!

sosage - 2013-06-13

Microsoft is leading the charge straight into the gigantic neon-green flowing iceberg. The other two ships are just kind of like, "Holy shit! Do you see what that one ship is doing? Is the captain drunk? Look. I dunno about you, but I'm not steering into that thing."

RocketBlender - 2013-06-13

Sony seems to have learned their lesson, and Nintendo is just kind of doing their own thing, over by the shore. They aren't really worried about going anywhere, they're having lots of fun where they are.

Gmork - 2013-06-13

Nintendo isn't a competitor, it's like saying the makers of Pez are competing with restaurants that serve lobster.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-06-13

The whole entertainment industry, not merely video games.

Hollywood is going to be a ghost town if there's a quick succession of summer blockbuster flops. Publishing houses have to cater to the Young Adult market and frequently have to rewrite otherwise normal books to fit the need for the high-payout fiction series model. Comics have become the R&D wing of the summer blockbuster industry. Video games, they have their own problems.

I'm going to invest heavily in the "cup with a ball on a string" industry. That's my Mad Money report for the day.

Scrimmjob - 2013-06-14

It'd be a blessing in disguise if hollywood took a fat shit all over itself and died. Bring back the days of drive in shlock and back alley stag films NOW!!!!

kingarthur - 2013-06-14

Lord save me from yet another comic book of somebody's dumb ass unfilmable TV pilot or shitty film script. Please.

StanleyPain - 2013-06-13

In fairness, the Xbox One does not have to always be online according to their info, rather it basically does a brief ping of some sort once every 24 hours which presumable verifies certificates or some bullshit.
I still think it's stupid and the Xbox hate can commence, but if the console turns out like they said, it's not actually "always online." It'll still be annoying as fuck though because the 360 now almost kind of has the same thing where if your game is not updated to the most recent update, you basically can't play the game while you're signed in online.

Hooker - 2013-06-13

That seems to me like saying people on parole aren't confined to any one place.

Change - 2013-06-13

Five because of this.

That guy - 2013-06-13

Nice find, Change.

PR piece for Xbox One disguised as 'article', absolutely no doubt in my mind.

1) incorporate our own criticism
2) reframe criticism by hand-picking
3) end with our strongest counter-argument

They'd be better off if they didn't have to do this, but after Prism revelation, and Xbox One backlash, and considering them together, articles like this on MS-NBC are their best move. It's purgation of said fears, so they hope.

Pro-tip: if you don't have time for the full article, just read the last two paragraphs of the article with this in mind.

Riskbreaker - 2013-06-13

Blunder of blunders.

XBox One: The 'New Coke' of consoles.

Introducing the HOMER: the console made for Homer.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-06-13

The worst part? People will still buy the Xbox One in droves, and it will probably sell better than it's competition by leaps and bounds.

The iPhone is proof that the vast majority of American consumers love being raped in the ass by corporations.

lionpaladin - 2013-06-13

According to polls online, people are saying they'll buy the PS4 over the XBox One by a longshot. One of them, a poll by Amazon on their facebook page, has the PS4 decimating the One.

Sure some people will buy the One, but the way things stand right now, I don't see it selling better.

RocketBlender - 2013-06-13

Sad but true. I wish I could find it again, but I'll always remember a review I read on gamestop's website for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

It basically said the game is crap, they tried to sell a few new levels for 'BlOps1' as a new game, and even that was poorly done. They went on to say that if the NEXT CoD they buy turns out the same, it will be the last.

I mentioned in another video that I try not to associate with other games offline (really, off poe), and there's a hundred reasons why.

Mother_Puncher - 2013-06-13

People are really up in arms about the Xbox HD re release. Just don't buy it. I haven't replaced my copy of Powder with a bluray or even DVD version and Im getting along just fine.

candyheadrobot - 2013-06-13

I'll be surprised if the xbox exists after this generation, but video games at least seem to be getting better.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-06-13

I hope Bill Gates unloaded all of his microsoft stock a long time ago so he can continue to fight malaria and polio and not have to worry about the stupid douchebaggles that are running the place now.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2013-06-13

The best part of this video is how Mattrick specifically singles out the American soldier fighting for his country overseas before dropping the "well buy a fuckin 360 then" bomb.

Hooker - 2013-06-13

Yeah, I loved that as well. "Oh, he's going to single someone out as not having Internet. Let's see who they snob on." ... "OH!"

Sexy Duck Cop - 2013-06-13

I'm so tired of these elitist, east-coast nuclear submarine pilots dictating how to run my game company from their ivory tower. I don't even know what a nuclear submarine is!

Burnov - 2013-06-13
