An 8 year old could make a better movie with his legos.

I like how you can instantly predict the girl character's entire role in the movie from that one scene at the end.
fatatty - 2013-06-19
I like how you can instantly predict the girl character's entire role in any movie made in Hollywood.

EvilHomer - 2013-06-19
I like how you can instantly predict everything that happens in any movie made in Hollywood.

Is this really CGI done to look like stop-motion?
Hooker - 2013-06-19
Holy shit, it is. What an astoundingly bad idea.

The Mothership - 2013-06-19
What an astoundingly lazy idea. Welcome to Hollywood.

Hooker - 2013-06-19
Is it even lazy? My experience with CGI is using 3D Studio MAX in the late 90s, but it seems like the difference between affected stop-motion and just regular motion is pretty trivial. It's not like you're drawing fewer frames or anything.

boner - 2013-06-19
I'm 90% sure CGI is way cheaper

Hooker - 2013-06-19
No, I mean the cost difference between CGI that isn't animated in stop-motion fashion and CGI that is (i.e., this). I, based on limited knowledge, would assume it's roughly the same.

magnificent wang - 2013-06-19
It is cheaper than a traditional pixar type animated movie. There is a relatively small animation team doing it, and they are only animating between 4 to 12 fps, not 24fps. Though, it's not exactly lazier, just different stylistically.

StanleyPain - 2013-06-19
Once the Lego video games got insanely popular (mainly due to the cute, stupid little cutscenes) I knew something like this shit was inevtiable and only a matter of time.

What's wonderfully, depressingly awesome/awful about this is that rather than a genunely funny and/or charming children's adventure movie with imagination and creativity (you know, the things that Lego toys are kind of ABOUT), it's just a generic Hollywood summer movie script re-purposed nonsensically to be a "Lego Movie" whatever that means. I mean...you could fucking write a term paper on how awful, yet endemic, this is.
dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-06-19
I laughed. More than once.

I don't know who I am anymore.
WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-06-19
It's written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The guys who made Clone High, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, and 21 Jump Street. This may be a gross feature-length toy commercials but it'll probably have some pretty good jokes.

Oh my god we finally have a Robot Chicken movie.

I can't rate that. I just...can't.
CornOnTheCabre - 2013-06-19
It's funny, because as awful as this ends up being, it'll still probably be a better Justice League movie than anything DC will ever put out.
sasazuka - 2013-06-19
I wonder if Disney-owned properties that got their own LEGO sets will have cameos? I'm thinking specifically of STAR WARS, though this movie was already in production long before Disney bought Lucasfilm, but, to a lesser degree, Marvel superheroes, just so we can see Marvel and DC superheroes together in the same film, albeit in yellow-headed plastic form.
memedumpster - 2013-06-19
Another movie based on a video game that will horrifically let the video game down.
BHWW - 2013-06-19
I can't believe Will Ferrell would lower himself to this!
chumbucket - 2013-06-20
Will Ferrel in a movie "with" Liam Neeson.

Lego: The Movie of the Videogame of the Superhero Franchises of the Comic Books

A videogame will then be made about this.
RocketBlender - 2013-06-19
I don't get it. A lot of the Lego games are so... well, good. And funny. Seriously, have any of you played Lego City: Undercover? The game is a fucking riot at times. I don't understand why they aren't making this more like that.

Seriously, get the guys from the video games to write your movies.
memedumpster - 2013-06-20
There was not a single joke in this trailer about the sidekick getting a stupid suit that wasn't fun while the hero could fly and drop bombs.

RocketBlender - 2013-06-20
There also wasn't any sign of a Kung-Fu master/Discount plumber.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-06-20
I'm excited. Fuck you.
Jet Bin Fever - 2013-06-20
So ungodly terrible. The soulless "Take on Me" electro cover is especially atrocious. Oh well, I haven't bought a Lego set in 20 years, so what do I care?
WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2014-03-03
This movie fucking owned, haters vacate
Spaceman Africa - 2014-03-03
Color me surprised when this film was actually pretty damn good.

snothouse - 2014-06-19
I love how everyone was shitting dumpsters on this trailer, and now you likely have it on your hard drive.
