Mechanics are always pretty, but it's like a horse and buggy when you can drive a car. Mechanical watches are prone to failure, and are expensive to repair. They are not as accurate as a quality quartz watch, and so they are just for show. In fact, for time, you're better off using a cell phone which automatically updates itself every day, or a decent quartz watch and just resetting the time every week.
