So this should pretty much settle the idea that the media is more vindictive to conservative politicians. The NSA was doing this, announced that they were doing this, and continued to do this under W, and the issue caused a little stir and then gently went away. I'm actually surprised that there is as much furor as there is now because I just assumed that the NSA has been doing this ever since they first announced, hey, we're doing this.
Hey, that's a little presumptuous.

It's entirely possible they're just much, MUCH more vindictive to black politicians.

Probably no surprise, but Yahoo has been running the Snowden stories non-stop, taking extra care to mention Obama in every headline.

Even more hilarious is their whole Obamacare smear campaign. Apparently, this whole recession was almost totally over but BAM Obamacare made sure no companies will ever hire! An article on Walmart increasing the number of temp workers was blamed on Obamacare, followed by the middle of the article quoting a Walmart spokesperson saying it had nothing to do with Obamacare, and finally a conclusion that it's totally because of Obamacare.

I can't even bring myself to troll the argument that it's okay for the NSA to spy on us because Obama is black and RACISM.

Remember the good ol' days when Progressives used to fight for civil liberties and demand their elected officials follow the Bill of Rights? Remember how they'd say things like, "People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people." and "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Seems so long ago. These days they just shrug it off when they lose their rights one after the other after the other.
