"Bellydancing to a prerecorded track is just weird."

It's no weirder than people bellydancing in movies/festivals/haflas/restaurants where there is often no band present.

(Well, except for the sound effects. That's a little weird. But then, it's a con.)

I know, that was a general statement, and doesn't apply only to belly dancing. So many forms of dance like this are all about the interplay between the dancer and the drummer, and that is completely lost when there's no live band. It's sad.
