if there isn't any more context for this video that provides a good reason for the guy getting arrested, it's likely he got cuffed simply because he was recording the police. and then a cop felt threatened by the guy's dog and shot it

terrible

Kabbage - 2013-07-03

Only other details I found were from this interview with the guy, afterwards: http:// bcove.me/d8muj38c

kennydra - 2013-07-03

There would be a suicide by cop type situation if police shot my dog. I should not have watched this.

lotsmoreorcs - 2013-07-03

Officer that shot the dog:
3 phone numbers for the precinct:
(310) 675-4443
(310) 349-2700
(310) 349 2835

Lieutenant Scott Swain's personal contact info!
Desk: (310) 349-2835
Personal cellphone: (310) 345-2348
Email: kswain@cityofhawthorne(dot)org
Home Address: 537 N Glendale Ave., Glendale, CA. 91206-3307

What you can do to contact People in office.

Call your mayor Danial Juarez -- his public office line is (310) 643-6139. Tell him you saw the video and explain that, as a dog lover, you'll vote on that issue alone in the next election.
Call Roderick Wright (your state senator). His office number in Sacramento is (916) 651-4035. Again, calmly explain to him about the video and tell him you want firm action.
Next, call assemblyman Steven Bradford. His office number in Inglewood is (310) 412-6400 or in Sacramento at (916) 319-2062.

That guy - 2013-07-03

frickin' Hawthorne & Inglewood. Tragedies per minute.

I think the world could use lotsmoreorcs, and lotslesskilleddogs, but can I suggest that if someone actually did vote solely on that issue in the next election, that person would be bad and dumb?

RedRust - 2013-07-03

Please make sure that the phone numbers are accurate. It was stated on the John & Ken show KFIAM640 (talk radio here in California) that some bozos put in the number to "Swains Art Store", which is entirely unrelated to Scott Swain. So what ended up happening was some lady working at a 62 year old ma and pa art supply store having multiple pizzas delivered to the store yesterday and today.

Gmork - 2013-07-04

Thanks. This makes it easy for lazy ideologists like me to help, plus I am in the relevant geographical area.

pyslexic dharmacist - 2013-07-07

Hrm, his voicemail is full....

Not saying he should be neutered with a chainsaw, but it would be pretty hilarious.....

That guy - 2013-07-03

What's their cause for detaining or arresting him?

POETV LEGAL TEAM, ASSEMBLE!!!

I thought that in California, the cops have no cause to stop someone for mere recording.....?

I don't wanna jump straight to LAPD stereotypes on this but...

Binro the Heretic - 2013-07-03

I'm sure cops think all black people are in a gang and anyone filming them is trying to get good pictures of their faces so the other gang members can find them later for retribution.

Or maybe any excuse to arrest a black dude is acceptable to them. I don't know. This was just fucking awful.

That guy - 2013-07-03

I suspected that. I'm not sure they had any legal cause to stop or arrest him though, even when their concerns are very real.

And they sure didn't let him secure his dog.

I don't have any idea if this site is bs, but someone could cross-reference some of these laws, and the statements from Justice Marshall.

Monkey Napoleon - 2013-07-04

He's interfering with the police by rolling up on their barricade blaring his music and then crossing into their perimeter and shouting at them, distracting them during a stand-off with an armed suspect.

This stuff is out there, freely available to anyone who had EVEN REMOTELY the same level of interest in what's going as they do outrage.

That guy - 2013-07-06

1) Why not provide the link?
2) a few heckles from 30 yards is a crime?
3) He doesn't cross into their perimeter.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-07-03

MOTHERFUCKER!

Don't they give you assholes pepper spray, you fucking turd?

sosage - 2013-07-03

I would have never put my gigantic Rottweiler inside the car, knowing cops were about to fuck with me, without the windows being rolled up enough to keep him inside. I thought it was common knowledge that cops will use your dog as target practice at the slightest motion.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-07-04

The worst video. I can't handle animal cruelty. I hope these guys burn in fucking hell.

lordyam - 2013-07-04

... im going go hug my dogs :(

theSnake - 2013-07-04

Let me just leave my enormous rottweiler unsecured while I volunteer to be arrested. What could go wrong?

fedex - 2013-07-04

pretty much

plenty of blame to go around here, but the guy was just thoughtless while the cops were downright bad.

Gmork - 2013-07-04

he didnt have much time and i'll bet was worried the cops thought he was about to jet in the car... so he didnt get in, turn it on, and roll the windows up, because doing so most likely would have made them believe he was making a run for it.

and pigs love a good chase

I doubt he woke up that morning with the intention of stumbling upon a police raid while walking his dog.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-07-04

And it looks like he did have the windows rolled up enough, but a dog that strong is capable of forcing them down further.

All blame goes to the cops. They had ZERO FUCKING CAUSE to detain the guy.

theSnake - 2013-07-04

He is yelling harassing statements at the police, and when they approach he clearly offers himself up for detainment. On top of that he has a huge rottweiler that he is menacing them with, which he fails to tie up. Bad judgement, bad dog owner. I'd say the police did the community a favor.

Anaxagoras - 2013-07-04

I can't tell if you're trolling or just very very stupid. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though and assume that you're borderline retarded.

RocketBlender - 2013-07-04

He really doesn't seem to be menacing anyone with the dog. The dog is very calm until he's actually being arrested, and he did put him up as the cops approached.

I'll agree about the bad dog owner part.

Gmork - 2013-07-04

Have you already forgot how stupid theSnake is?
