And if you ponied up for Limewire Premium you got an extra bar on your speedometer so you could think you're downloading this at turbo speed. I don't think any tears were shed when the school net admins shut down limewire access. It was more a sense of relief.

I never had this because I had the sense to check the file size before I downloaded a song. It works out nicely at something like 1 megabyte / minute for most songs at 256kb/s.
Porn is where you really had to be cautious.
