I'm from Texas, and I see his point.
Texas is undoubtedly awful. I also think it's really important to have Texas so that way white Yankee liberals don't have to look at things like Stop and Frisk, northern segregation, or the NYC's embarrassing income inequality. At least we're not *Texassssssssss*

I will say this: One of the genuinely funniest old ladies I ever knew was from Texas. Of course, I wouldn't want to live there myself.
