Terrible design, terrible animation, and more flat "I'm a rat!" jokes than you can shake a dead rat at.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2013-07-31

If I remember the Spike run (at least, the episode I watched of it), Gary wasn't just a rat. He was a stand-in for minorities, too.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-07-31

No doubt Kelsey Grammer blames the failure of this show on liberal Hollywood elites.

He was a pretty cool actor until I found out he was a wingnut whiner a lot of the time.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-07-31

Yeah, he was one of the spearheads behind "The Right Network" and it's cringingly awful standup comedy show, as well as the god awful "An American Carol".

This was terrible. I never saw more than ads for the SpikeTV version. It came on right after Stripperella. They advertised both shows to hell and back with commercials starring Pam Anderson and Kid Rock. It was just as strange and terrible as it sounds.

themilkshark - 2013-07-31

Watch the first minute and a half and just imagine a really boisterous laugh track. This is pathetic non-comedy.

SolRo - 2013-07-31

Grammer without the liberal elite Hollywood writers.

infinite zest - 2013-07-31

Wait.. people watched this? Oh wait.. I just did.

MrBuddy - 2013-07-31

I'm pretty sure I watched every episode when it was on TV. I see it hasn't changed much.

Xenocide - 2013-07-31

Spike's aborted animation block was one of the worst things ever to air on television.

Along with a full half hour of this crap, they aired the revamped, "mature and edgy" version of Ren and Stimpy, where the entire show became one long gay joke.

Bort - 2013-07-31

And don't forget "Stripperella". Even the best pull-quote Spike TV could arrange was: "The critics are saying: 'Stripperella' is on Spike TV!"

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-07-31

I didn't see any of the gay jokes for R&S. I stuck around long enough to see Ren eat a human hand as a "joke" and figured, "yeah, Nickelodeon was right to kick John K. off of his own show."

themilkshark - 2013-08-04

SPK, if you didn't see the gay jokes, you're blind. Sawing logs, pitcher and catcher? Did you even watch it?!

I hated R&S:APC as much as I hated Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat. Two reprisals that failed to match the original in quality or taste.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-07-31

HAHA LAWYERS ARE JERKS RAT RAT RAT RAT RAT-A-TAT-TAT

Was this supposed to be furry? Because I've seen some truly terrible furry animations that still had less flimsy premises than "guy just wakes up one morning as whatever animal the author jarks it to the hardest."

Gallez - 2013-07-31

Wow, they really can't animate any sort of movement at all, like opening a newspaper, closing a car door, or walking. I'm no animation expert but this looks like a thirty-page flipbook. I guess Flash was a little out of their budget.

Hailey2006 - 2013-07-31

Oh, yes turn of the millennium flash animation!
The Metamorphosis: The Animated Series! Now there's an idea!

snothouse - 2013-07-31

Picking up where Capital Critters left off, with the drawing style of a "YOU CAN DRAW ANIME" book.

memedumpster - 2013-08-01

The ultra-casual way he says "I didn't intend to turn into a rat in my sleep" tells me he's said that line many times before.

I kid, I like Kelsey, he's actually made me laugh. Right wing wackos that can make you laugh are so rare they're precious, right, Mike Nelson?
