didn't they use this for the end of a madmen episode at some point?
HarrietTubmanPI - 2013-08-06
Yes they did. I forget what ep it was but I think it was in season 2 when Dale Cooper was about to take off in a jet.

Uh hello, Joe Meek tag please!
Spaceman Africa - 2013-08-06
I saw the Wikipedia page for Joe Meek and it seems to be written by someone who really has it out for the guy.

chairsforcheap - 2013-08-06
he was a bit of an antihero

Spaceman Africa - 2013-08-06
My favorite bit being "Meek was obsessed with the occult and the idea of "the other side". He would set up tape machines in graveyards in a vain attempt to record voices from beyond the grave, in one instance capturing the meows of a cat he claimed was speaking in human tones, asking for help. In particular, he had an obsession with Buddy Holly (claiming the late American rocker had communicated with him in dreams) and other dead rock and roll musicians." Of course there's no citation.

Done and done.

Didn't he end up murdering his neighbor or something?

I can see sleighbells in the snow there, and I feel like I'm drunk. Or the record player is. Or both of us.

I have this record Jungle rock is the B-side
EvilHomer - 2013-08-06
Jungle Rock or Jungle Fever? I know The Tornados did a song called Jungle Fever, but if they did an instrumental cover of Jungle Rock, I'd like to know about it. Jungle Rock kicked ass; easily one of my favorite classic rockabilly tunes.
