This reminds me of that Warner Bros. cartoon where Daffy is dragooned into performing his top shelf act. He downs gallons of gasoline, dynamite, etc etc and finally, a match. There is a terrific explosion. The crowd goes wild. Bugs sez, "They love you Daffy, they want an encore" to which Daffy replies "I know, I know, but I can only do it once" as his spirit drifts into the afterlife.
