This is just propaganda from Big Dentistry. Don't believe the lies. They don't want you to know that so-called "toothpaste" has mercury in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f56N3FyGcOQ Google mercury in toothpaste! Do your homework. And Obamacare is going to force you to get dental coverage. Follow the money!

Thanks for reminding me how the right wing has made satire ("precious bodily fluids") into stuff dumb people actually believe.

If you ever see any kind of water filter for sale on Woot.com, about ten comments in, some Jenny McCarthy-style idiot will chime in with, "It doesn't filter out fluoride? NO DEAL! Read more here: http://dumbassconspiracy.noscience.bullshit.fear.com/fluoride."

Tooth decay must cause brain damage or something.

memedumpster - 2013-08-23
I am angered by that not being a real link.

rustedmutt - 2013-08-23
Tooth decay has been linked to heart disease... I wouldn't be surprised if this guy's ticker is as damaged as his dentition.

That said, BRB FLOSSING.

Mister Yuck - 2013-08-23
Tooth decay has been correlated to heart disease by stakeholders in the American Dental Association and industry, but when the American Heart Association looked into the link they found no causal connection, and improving oral health did not have an impact on heart disease. Probably the correlation comes from people not taking care of their teeth at the same time as they let their health go to shit in general. That's not gonna stop Crest and Colgate from trying to sell you expensive toothpaste, though.

Oh, well...that makes sense.

Still flossing.

Whenever new ad displays come into the pharmacy I work at, I try to look into the ridiculous claims they make. I'd say that the fucks behind Crest ProHealth marketing can choke, but honestly, the kind of people who can buy toothpaste really should be taken for all they're worth.

Do you have some sources Mister Yuck? I'm hoping what you say is true. My boyfriend's shitty parents never took him or his siblings to the dentist when he was growing up and now he's had all his teeth removed except for a couple front ones that are pretty much rotted nubs. He's not exactly sitting on a couple grand to get them fixed and I always worry how it affects his health.

brb guys, gonna floss my teeth for a few hours

Right around the five second mark, I made a noise that is pretty much identical to the one I believe I would make if I were watching myself being castrated.

Yech.
