Having worked at an advertising agency, I can attest to the fact that they eat babies, want to poison your grandma, and are just DYING for the chance to take your favorite song/band and use it in a commercial for furniture polish.
I have a hunch that Bill Hicks knew that not every marketer is an evil stain on humanity who deserves to die, and that not every marketer ought to commit suicide. But it's right and proper that every single marketer should at some point ask himself: AM I an evil stain on humanity that deserves to die? Why is he saying that? Why are those people clapping?
Now I'd like to plant a seed of my own. If you're a brave uncompromising comic whose voice we could really use in the 21st century, after Fox News goes on the air, please quit smoking. Also not a joke.
