Yeah, saw that typo once it was in the hopper, but I couldn't find a way to fix it until it hit the front page. :P

There's actually a way to edit your video while it's in the hopper, but you have to hack the Matrix and shit.

One of these days, someone will publish the following paper:

"The Automatic Detection Of Fake Viral Videos"

"...our machine learning algorithm demonstrates that a key classifier was the recording of a large object tipping and falling with the video ending shortly after"
Old_Zircon - 2013-09-11
It's usually pretty easy to detect them manually.

I don't get it. What's the point of making a fake 'injury' video?

It's not satirical, people aren't stupid for believing it, it's basically the video equivalent of passing off someone else's interesting story as your own. Yeah you get a bit of attention, which for a gimmicky late-night host is motivation enough. But it's not interesting or creative.

Also people have already noticed some of his "gas station videos" with the public, use actors. All this means is anything that would be interesting on his show if it were real, is now assumed fake.

You talk like they magically knew it would get billion views and that they are laughing at you for falling for it. Someone in the sweatshop writers room probably thought that that reveal would make a passable show segment to fill up time until they get to one of their stable of reality television stars to interview. Are you assuming that their needs to be more to their motivation than just getting you to sit through the next commercial break to justify all the attention it got?

Don't worry, your point of establishing how unimpressed you were cancelled out their no doubt smug satisfaction.

Yay, we were right. Of course we were right. We're practically experts on this kind of thing.
Binro the Heretic - 2013-09-11
Yeah, we've seen enough people on fire to spot the genuine article.

There wasn't nearly enough frantic kicking.

Yes. Those of us who called it should get free beejays.

Why the fuck are viral videos news these days? Isn't there like, some stuff happening that would actually be worth reporting?
