So Kiss is like the Franklin Mint of rock music?
i seem to remember reading somewhere Gene Simmons opining that "he created the first Rock and Roll Brand". someone had to, i suppose.

KISS doesn't come clean with the reason they showed up until about halfway through the video, but boy is it a good one.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that the band couldn't be bothered to think of a more tactful way to fuck over their fans, or the fact that the fans didn't even blink, they just kept right on cheering and calling out the band's names like four year old kids trying to get mom's attention.
I'm not going to watch this whole thing since KISS is boring as hell. The impression I got from the few minutes I did watch was that they showed up to answer questions? Clearly I missed something since that doesn't seem like fucking over their fans...
I couldn't watch it either because KISS is horrible, but I skipped around and determined that they basically just showed up to shill for their next album, Gene Simmons shitty book, etc.
Relevant bits start at 11:40. The convention organizers had a bunch of KISS memorabilia on display, mothballed costumes and things that they had bought at an auction. KISS wanted the memorabilia back. So they showed up and just took it all.
There's also a whole bunch of shilling.

The World's Worst Band
Certainly in the running for worst of their generation, at least. The mid to late 90s and early to mid 2000s have given them some serious competition.
