Oddly enough, whoever directed this did seem to care about odd details. That cop car at the beginning is CGI, but they told the old dude "driving" it to act like he was really in a car coming to a stop.
It's like hearing a poignant line in a porno movie.

How do you have a differently worded description on the main page than on this page
are you a hacker
|
Wander - 2013-09-26 no stars for hackers
|
glasseye - 2013-09-26 The front page doesn't update right away if you edit the description.

The fuck is this game? It looks strangely brilliant.
|
Binro the Heretic - 2013-09-27 It was accidentally funny in places, but the premise was kind of weak.
SPOILER ALERT: The main character is actually plugged into a virtual reality computer a la " The Matrix" which is being used to brainwash him into being a serial killer because some evil corporation needs random serial killers wandering around because making people afraid gives them more power and blargh de blargh de bloo.
I'm sure the entire thing exists as a "Let's Play" on YouTube, but just watch "The Heart, She Holler" instead.
|
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-09-27 FMV video games were an amazing collision of bad acting, bad writing, and shitty FX seldom seen outside of film schools or pre-teens with pirated copies of After Effects.
It was a case of the technology being the reason you bought this crap, not that the game was incredible. It was just so novel to not see 8-bit graphics, I guess.
|
RocketBlender - 2013-09-27 That's all disappointing. From the cinematic, I thought it may have been some kind of early attempt at one of those Wicker-Man kind of stories where the entire town is one big pit of deceit and corruption.

Haven't I seen this before?
Oh yes, I have. Harvester tag links to it.

Well, if all goes well with this torrent download i know what I'll be doing tomorrow morning
|
Scrimmjob - 2013-09-28 I'm not at all surprised to see this is released by merit software. This game is actually pretty playable!
|
Innocent Bystander - 2013-09-27
Well isn't this just "shocking" and "bizarre".
|
EvilHomer - 2013-09-27
From the Wikipedia article:
"Harvester contains various scenes of violence and gore; implied sexual intercourse, masturbation and S&M; murder; suicide; child abuse; profanity; cannibalism; prostitution; pedophilia; molestation, arson, theft, serial killing; geronticide, vandalism, sexually transmitted diseases; and stereotypes of homosexuals, Native Americans, Italians, and others. This caused controversy when the game was first announced"
|
RocketBlender - 2013-09-27 I like how they lump masturbation and S&M together like it's all the same.

Old_Zircon - 2013-09-28 It is if you're ding it right.

I have been greatly enjoying this Wrongplay as well. A universe where the legal loophole to get out of your arrest over murdering the paper boy is simply having a coupon.
|
Old_Zircon - 2013-09-27 Yeah, I'd completely forgotten this game existed, and I think their take on it is probably my favorite thing they've done since King's Quest 5.

WANT SOME PIE?
COURSE YOU DO.
|
Gmork - 2013-09-28
I'm just completely and pleasantly baffled.
