Of course they didn't learn anything. Germany will jail you for sympathizing with political parties on the current government's blacklist. Britain routinely spies on it's citizens and allows it's courts of law to hand out punishments, in the form of ASBOs, regardless of whether the citizens receiving them have actually committed a legally punishable offense. Austria has had a very active and very popular Ultra-Nationalist presence for years. One of Italy's most powerful conservative politicians is the grand-daughter of Mussolini, and France's last president was a racist, power-mad theocrat. We all know what Putin is like.

Basically, everyone in Europe right now is either a fascist or a socialist, and the only real question is which side will exterminate the other first. In fact, I'd argue that there was NEVER a time in which Europe "learned" from the Second World War. Maybe I'm just a cynic, bu all that really happened in 1945 was that half of Europe became property of the Stalinists, and the other half got bought up by Anglo-American multinationals. They don't kill Jews anymore, and they're slightly more cunning when it comes to pursuing their colonial-imperialist agendas, but otherwise it's the same old ever-shifting morass of violent, paternalistic ideologies that primarily serve the needs of those in power.

Except Luxembourg. They're pretty chill.

Europe still has a future. There is no way this country in the modern world would even make it through fourth century European conflicts. We're going to eat ourselves to death out of stupidity. I'm now mad at Europe for being survivors.

The thought of this country's military finally getting full metal Egyptian in the streets on the Tea Party fascists fills me with Allah's erections, Jesus's ripped abs, and El Shaddai's flaming eyeballs of kosher hot dogs. Please, do not ruin this for me through reasonable argument against the very concept of impassable disagreement and politics driven warfare we've all come to love and expect.

One of the things that happened to Greece and that I could almost see happening in the US involved taxes and government employees.

Basically, taxes became pretty much optional in Greece. Nobody enforced collection, really, and anyone who tried was booted out of office in short order. That meant the only real income tax base the government had was those who worked for the state in some capacity, as their pay could be monitored and the taxes extracted automatically. This meant that the only people paying the full tax debt they owed worked for the government, and they were also the first to go when the government ran out of money and had to start laying off the only real taxpayers it had.

It also didn't help that U.S. investment firms (whose entire boardrooms should be in jail, if there were any semblance of justice) came over and gave them the same bad advice they gave to US companies, homeowners, etc. and allowed Greece to dig itself an even deeper hole than before.

It's also not a coincidence that international banking groups are backing this party. Strong arm fascist governments make for some convenient debt collectors.

The rule is if they are reporting about Russia, then no, it's not legit.

If they are reporting about American politics, they favor third parties and definitely want the two party system in the US to fail. They look to incite outrage whenever possible, but rarely fall into the category of hyperbole anymore, but occasionally they fall off that wagon.

If they are reporting about Europe it is usually pretty non biased. The Middle East, usually good reporting but they definitely don't want the US to go into Syria and that should be obvious by Putin himself addressing the American people.

I personally suspect Russia might have supplied the rebels with serin gas but I have absolutely nothing to back me up on that...it's just a hunch.
