No kidding. I don't know but i kind of feel like i hate California now?

He's an insufferable douche, but if you've ever listened to AM talk radio you'd see he's much less so than anyone equivalent to him on the right, and he's also more correct on the state of the world than them generally.

They both make me laugh occasionally though.

Broken record time for SPK on Bill Maher (because I know everyone cares what I think):

1. His scripted bits are the best parts of his show.
2. He talks over his guests far too much, especially the right wingers. He needs to learn the Jon Stewart art of letting the nutter make enough rope to hang themselves with.
3. No matter how much I might agree with him, he's practically an anti-vaxxer, or at least he was. Bill fucking Frist had to set him straight on vaccines (Maher said flu shots were just "injecting yourself with sickness" and other myths as gospel) and that cancer treatments had actually made advances in the past 50 years (Maher apparently doesn't).

Buying into the idea of a binary spectrum in the first place is a bad idea.

And yet even Maher only generates about .35 Hannitys of smugness. The host of "Newsbusted" is a smugness singularity from which not even a laugh track can escape.

liberals aren't allowed to be proud, only sorry or ashamed.

Liberals are supposed to have laughably unrealistic standards and then refuse to vote when they're not met.

If conservatives could actually feel shame over what they've done, they'd kill themselves. It and the lack of empathy is probably a defense mechanism for self(ish)-preservation.
