With that music and the arrangement of the montage, the horrifying endings seem uplifting and heartwarming. Hell, even "Oldboy" looked sweet and touching.

Seeing Christopher Reeve smiling and winking at the camera as Superman gripped me with a deep and unexpected sorrow.
