That's kind of dumb though. We're in the first world. These are our problems. It's not like any of us have any business being offended on behalf of people in the third world.

I will never understand why we suddenly are responsible for the world's problems merely because we are now capable of being aware of them. 6000 something odd years of recorded civilization only knowing what's happening in small slices. I don't imagine Muslims in the Middle Ages living in civilized areas cared about my ancestors dying of Black Death and building cathedrals out of bones.
