anyone playing Kerbal Space Program? I've recreated this in many, many ways.
Monkey Napoleon
I miss how it was several revisions ago where on take-off, things would just randomly explode sometimes from the wonky physics.

Now I just watch Scott Manley play.

I'm sure this is a fascinating story, like most tales of the Soviet space program... but how the hell did this particular video make it out of the hopper?
welll fuck me gently with a chainsaw, I'm sorry, I'll just build a time machine and go back with a decent camera since this is the only footage of the event in the entire fucking world.

Old People
Sorry, didn't know this was the only such footage.

History aside, it's hard to get a feel of the largest man-made, non-nuclear explosion in history when it's presented in a slow-motion closeup. It might as well be footage of a Ford Pinto fuel tank rupturing.
Yeah, a non-closeup would've been nice, and excluding the stock sound effect for the explosion would've helped.

That said, have you ever noticed that the Russian language sounds like the speaker is muttering "bullshit" every so often if they speak rapidly enough?
the word 'bullshit' or like made-up words? if it latter, as a Russian, I agree.

That was a hell of a cool looking rocket that just went up like four Challengers.
3 stars alone for the bassline in the music that reminds me of that old Doom MIDI music!
