I hope your town dies a miserable economic death and you all have to move out...
...and that you can't find an afford place because none of the assholes around you will allow apartments or condos in their backyards.
My family is from this part of Oregon. The people this song is about are the same rich twats who moved in back in the 80s and ruined most of the little towns out there. Fuck' em.
I have been to "LO" twice, because my previous property management company was there.
It looked like everything I feel to be a nightmare place. Just awful, stifling death.
I believe William James wrote about Lake Oswego over a century ago...
"I went in curiosity for a day. I stayed for a week, held spell-bound by the charm and ease of everything, by the middle-class paradise, without a sin, without a victim, without a blot, without a tear.
And yet what was my own astonishment, on emerging into the dark and wicked world again, to catch myself quite unexpectedly and involuntarily saying: "Ouf! what a relief! Now for something primordial and savage, even though it were as bad as an Armenian massacre, to set the balance straight again. This order is too tame, this culture too second-rate, this goodness too uninspiring.
This human drama without a villain or a pang; this community so refined that ice-cream soda-water is the utmost offering it can make to the brute animal in man; this city simmering in the tepid lakeside sun; this atrocious harmlessness of all things,-I cannot abide with them. Let me take my chances again in the big outside worldly wilderness with all its sins and sufferings. There are the heights and depths, the precipices and the steep ideals, the gleams of the awful and the infinite; and there is more hope and help a thousand times than in this dead level and quintessence of every mediocrity."

Thank you so much for this.
Apropos of nothing, the only girl I ever really liked left me to move back to Lake Oswego. I think I was better off not knowing what I was competing with. :-(

Lake Oswego is an insufferable rich suburb of Portland. Some of the locals apparently want to keep condos out of a redevelopment there.

Hey everyone posting, do a lot of you live in Portland?
I've counted several users on here, including myself, that live in PDX.
Lake O is paved with our hearts, bro. Also some artery busting baked goods from that patisserie at the park.
I grew up around there, and spent six years in Seattle. Alas, I now live away from my beloved PNW.

A.) Fuck Lake Oswego. B.) I too am from Oregon. I'm not surprised that some of these names I've seen on here for years are. We all seem to be pretty sardonic assholes.
MEAT MEET UP! We can all touch tips!
And more specifically: SE Portland. Felony Flats style bitches.
What? None of you motherfuckers want to mash weenies together? We can butt chug some craft beers!
