The Mothership - 2014-01-05
I seem to remember a Last Action Hero pun compilation being here, think it was around 2008 or so. This was the best stupid movie
que comment shitstorm, this film always brings out the haters.

infinite zest - 2014-01-06 I haven't seen the films, but isn't this what the Expendables movies try to do, but badly and taking themselves too seriously?

Cena_mark - 2014-01-06 The Expendables don't have nearly the zany fun that LAH had. The Expendables takes itself too seriously with a few humorous nods here and there.
I enjoyed the first one, but I did not see the 2nd due to Chuck Norris and his meddling. He insisted on taking out profanity from the script, because as all followers of American Jesus know bad words are evil but shooting dudes up is totally cool.

Nominal - 2014-01-07 The 2nd Expendibles was better, but still only had about 4 chuckles spread throughout the entire movie.

I like how the working title for this film was "Extremely Violent."

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2014-01-05
Arnold didn't do too much work after this one...

When i was a teenager my dad really insisted on ordering this on ppv, just so he could also order some late night porno, and try to hide it from my mom when the cable bill came. He was really conspicuous about the whole thing, and basically forced me to watch last action hero with him.

I like this movie, but the decision to release this film the same weekend as Jurassic Park is probably one of the stupidest decisions in film history next to filming The Conqueror near the Trinity blast site.

RockBolt - 2014-01-06 *Nevada Test Site, but your point stands

infinite zest - 2014-01-06 I was way more excited for this film than Jurassic Park. I was 12 and all my older brothers' friends had read the book, etc. and knew way more than I did. So they went and saw Jurassic Park and I saw Last Action Hero. Looking back, I have no regrets.

I saw this movie in the theater.
I'm not sure I regret it.

This movie holds up pretty well. I think it's a good spoof and there are some competently done stunts. I rewatched it with a friend and it was much, much better than we remembered it. I don't know if I can say it was ahead of its time, but as StanleyPain said, the timing for its release was about as bad as the release date for UHF.

I saw this movie long after it came out and was booed out of theatres. It's really not as bad as it was made out to be.

Oh god.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-01-08
If this film hadn't come out at the same time Jurassic Park did, it wouldn't have failed as badly and people wouldn't remember it as fondly.
