So how is Space Dandy? The previews I've seen looked awesome.

I downloaded the first two episodes and want to see more. It's one of the few animes I'd rather see dubbed for the visuals alone. Or learn Japanese. Absolutely beautiful, colorful and mesmerizing. Think of the first time you saw the Cantina scene from Star Wars but an entire show, or "Superjail" but not quite as insane or violent (close though).

So far there's no real plot, which I think is cool, especially since I just finished up with "Attack on Titan," which was beautiful beautiful beautiful but took itself too seriously. I was hoping for more of a "Jack and the Beanstalk" take than what it became, which was utterly predictable, especially for an Anime.

So far I give "Space Dandy" all the stars in the galaxy.

I like Dr. Gel, but more than that, I like his "DANDY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE FOR NO REASON" objective. I also like how he's a talking space gorilla.

He reminds me of Dr. Claw, in that the protagonist is completely unaware of him, or the repeated attempts made on his life.

I also liked the narrator.

"Humans are but one of a myriad of species. There are countless others."
:Human figure against a spacescape background slowly has a few, then several, then lots of different aliens appear around it:
"Like that one. And those...and all of them. Far too many to name. No seriously, I'm done."
