Auto five stars for yelling at Amanda Fritz so the rest of us don't have to

this one won me over when he went nuts on the red headed girl. i'm not sure if it's misogyny or simply because she isn't on the blue team.

as an aside, there's a pretty big portland contingent here, right?

infinite zest - 2014-01-29

Representin' the clinton division area personally.

i'm a recent transplant to oregon (eugene, girlfriend, grad school), but i was actually in your hood last weekend. squid tacos at por que no? and wondering why the sun was so fucking out. i heard this drought is going to kick us in the balls come summer. any truth to that?

infinite zest - 2014-01-29

The last big one was back in the 90s. I can't remember much beyond the sprinklers in my neighborhood being on all the time and they had to limit peoples' water or something.. the biggest thing that I noticed was grass that wasn't green, but I was pretty young.

Por Que No rocks! I always get there when there's a line though so I usually go to Bar of the Gods, drink beer and play pinball, and eventually I'm drunk enough to just order the tater tots at BoG and play more pinball. Goddamnit it's a hard life.

haha, that it is. we sat through the line, then went people-watching at the comic con. drink every time you see a sonic.

glasseye - 2014-01-30

Ex-PDX here, would love to move back.

glasseye - 2014-01-30

Regarding droughts, there was a somewhat bad one in the mid 2000s that resulted in LOTS of brush fires... We were living in Seattle at the time and spent most weekends camping; I remember it taking 6+ hours to get from Portland to Seattle on July 4th because of the fires.

Yikes! Didn't know that Glasseye. I grew up in PDX but left for school in 2000 to Wisconsin, and moved back around 2008, so I missed that one. The big disaster I remember was the "snowpocalypse" in 2008 which really did suck there for a couple of weeks. Not because of the snow, but because it shut down a bunch of local businesses right on Christmas. That and the mudslides where all the houses fell into the construction for the first MAX tracks.

yeah glass, as i understand it there are several wildfires that were blazing in western oregon last week. whenever i get some time off work i plan on camping my ass off. any spots to recommend in OR/WA?

I like the Painted Hills down in John Day. There's hot springs there too. This time of year it's really isolated.

Now I'm curious about the connection between Portland and PoE....there's certainly plenty of evil in Gresham....

yogarfield - 2014-02-02

Oh my damn zesty, that looks amazing.

Give Parappa back his hat, old man.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-01-30

What did Don Henley have to say about this?

Old_Zircon - 2014-01-30

He's actually 33 years old, that's just what trying to negotiate with government does to you.
