Same here. I've always believed that Zimmerman's complete inability to scrap with his hands is what led to the whole tragedy.

Civilians who carry guns around in public are idiots. Zimmerman smacks of failed security guard, which is saying something because in many cases security guards come from failed cops.

I think to get serious gun control in our country we should encourage black males to get carry permits and walk around with rifles wherever they go. That would get white conservatives on the gun control wagon in no time.

I've alluded to my support for the Maoist stance on gun rights before. I don't actually *agree* with the Maoists, as there are significant problems with their position, chiefly having to do with their view of gun rights as a weapon and principle of opportunity, rather than an inherent and necessary part of the liberative social contract , and worse, the Messianic opinion they have of themselves. In Maoist theory, gun rights should be supported only so long as they are in the Maoist's own interests; once the Maoists attain power, gun rights should be clamped down upon, because Maoists represent the people, and surely the underclasses don't need to defend themselves from themselves, right? Only a counterrevolutionary backslider would feel the need to protect himself from the new order. � As such, the Maoist position is ultimately self-defeating, oppressive, and inescapably authoritarian.

Nevertheless, as an educated white male from a privileged background, I'd sleep a lot easier knowing that if I pushed them too far, the underclasses could at any moment rise up and destroy everything I hold dear.

I say Zimmerman support is itself proof of racism -- he'd be universally reviled if he'd followed a white kid -- so that puts the racism level in the GOP at a minimum of 45%.

Then of course there's the whole "You're racist for accusing me of racism" gambit. Which of course is nothing but "I know you are, but what am I" for grown ups. They've been ignoring racism for so long they'll say the very acknowledgement of racism is racism.

He's so deep in debt because of his legal battle, he pretty much has no choice but to do these kinds of silly publicity stunts. Wait long enough, and he'll have a reality show on A&E.

I'd rather the man was just quietly garroted one balmy evening, and his body hidden in a landfill, his life to be eventually forgotten. He doesn't even deserve infamy anymore, because nothing has changed in response to his actions. He's just more fuel for the rage furnaces on both sides (Not claiming immunity here; fucking hell, the fact that there are even SIDES in his case or any of the mass shooting cases still makes me angry-ill).
