Oh, baleen, tell the people on the POETV facebook page that registration's working again. I tested it.
Ok... are you not on FB or somethin?
What the fuck is a facebook?
it's like a yearbook but more annoying. How come Debbie got 38 likes on her link and I only got 2 when I shared it!?!
Honestly I don't think Caesar will ever not be funny. It's weird to see 20th (into 21st) century's comedy evolution from classics like Caesar, the Marx Brothers, etc. into.. kind of for the most part shit in the 70s and 80s, into some stuff I'd barely call comedy like Bill Hicks (I love him but for a different reason) into self-aware comedy like David Cross, Tim Heidecker, et al, back to Eric Andre, Key and Peele, who seem to be doing their best Sid Caesar.
There's been a lot of bullshit along the way in any generation, but I just think it's kind of weird. If someone were to remake this shot-for-shot with any comedic actor right now there'd be just as many laughs, if not more.
Caesar's parody work is the best.
Some of the bits are a bit stagey, the timing was just so different and vaudeville-derived that it didn't feel good on TV.
I guess we'll never really know since most of the Show of Shows were lost.
