If I had to chose a best sketch comedy show of all time it'd be a close race but I think SCTV would be the clear winner in the end.

I can trace the roots of my insomnia back to 10-year-old me putting a television in my room for Nintendo 64 purposes, but ended up watching late night syndication of SCTV. Then came cable, and with it KITH and UCB.

I don't think I had a TV in the room where I slept until I was in my 20s, but having a stereo and then a computer more than made up as far as keeping me awake.
