Nothing against this guy, but it would've been really funny if he replied "Five sigma, you say?" and then immediately shot himself in the head.

Unfortunately, it was later revealed the readings were fouled by other members of the research team switching an electric can opener on and off.

here's a pretty good, informative interview with Linde from a few years ago: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/fren-ital/opinions/shows/eo10018.mp3

I know who is currently more powerful in the USA, but which group is more annoying? Militant Creationists or Militant Atheists?
Change - 2014-03-19
People who complain about 'militants'.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-19
I find that a rather odd question since it puts them on a level of equal validity.

I don't know of any militant atheists that are calling for science or "atheism" to be taught in churches at taxpayer expense. Laws aren't based on "atheist" statements, unless one equates math, statistics, etc. as strictly atheist. About the most militant way I can think of atheism being put forth in law is some that are demanding the tax-exempt status of churches be revoked.

So if someone wants to make birth control harder to get, make discrimination against minorities easier, or codify deities into state laws/practices because they say a god demands it, then those people are more annoying, since they're a real-world detriment to everyone that doesn't believe as they do.

How witty.

I was being serious.

You might consider getting off of the computer for a bit.

That is a perfectly fair and valid point which applies to most of us here, none more so than me.
