Cool, I love the songs, but hate the original artists!

Boomer The Dog - 2014-04-29

This is a great record for kids, get them something cheap that has all of the hits on it, plus cartoon Muskrats, they'd love it!

The album I had like this was Disco Dynamite, with songs performed by Mirror Image, and I liked it.

Sure Boomer, but they're all cheap cover versions of "the Hits."

And I had the Disco Duck album growing up. It's embarrassing to admit.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-04-30

That's the thing, I didn't notice that my disco album was cheap covers of the hits until somebody told me.

I don't think I have that one now, but I still have Disco Duck, from Rick Dees, but I got it later. I have Disco Mickey Mouse with Macho Duck on it, how about that, and more, in vinyl. I have the excuse, a radio station that plays anything, and I like to jam.

You should make a really long and drawn out video some time of your vinyl collection sometime. I would be interested to see more about that. I saw the one about your radio work and of course all the news stories about Papey(sp) and your dog house, but I haven't seen anything about your records and music collection. You must have some cool stuff.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-05-01

ugh, that was really poorly written.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-05-01

I have a pretty good vinyl collection, gems to me, like Dog song records, and Muskrat Love would be something appealing if I could get it. I use a Pioneer PL550X turntable, with a preamp I built, low noise op-amp.

I'd like to show more sides to the world, and I'm trying to get there, then we can see what kind of monster it will become.

I'm doing AM 690 radio, and right now working on a higher band Part 15 free radiate (antenna) station to compliment the 690 frequency. 690 is on at all times, sending its signal into the power grid, all kinds of music, some of it being vinyl that I recorded to Flac files.

Even as a child in the 1970s, I hated "Muskrat Love". For one thing, it was mushy soft rock. For another, the weird chirpy noises were like nails on a blackboard to me.

infinite zest - 2014-04-30

What's the "Muskrat" thing all about? For the most part, I grew up mostly with those "now that's what I call music" or "jock jams" (hehe) greatest hits albums, but I remember the Chipmunks and other anthropomorphic animals, but most of them were an animal that was more well-received, like a pony, a monkey.. a muskrat isn't necessarily a well-received animal. I think they're cute like nutrias, but I also like opossums.. did they just run out of furry animals and decide on "muskrat?" Or is there a deeper meaning?

infinite zest - 2014-04-30

Oh. I could've asked Tennille. Still begs the question. "Otter Love" sounds so much cuter and they do the same thing.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-05-01

Otters do seem to be cuter.. I hadn't thought about why she wrote the song about muskrats, maybe just to use a different animal, but you're right, otter would have the proper two syllables to fit in that song, a better fit than skunk.

I'm reminded of a moment from some post-"Doctor Doctor" sitcom Matt Frewer starred in - his character has gotten stuck on hold after calling some sort of company and he says he's had to listen to the hold-music selection of "Muskrat Love" so often he's "starting to consider it".
