The idea for doing a cartoon called "The Nutzis" came from somewhere, but I can't remember where. Mel Brooks? R. Crumb? Both of those feel kind of close but not right.

There was that show "Heil Honey I'm Home" that I think made it about 2 episodes.

At least these aren't about getting grounded for not getting to go to Chucky Cheese and throwing a conniption fit. When I was like 5 or 6, my mom took me to McDonalds and she had a coupon for cheeseburgers or something. BUT I WANTED A HAPPY MEAL! She took me aside and said "you can get whatever you want on the menu but when we get home, you are grounded." I got what was on the coupon.

Plus because of some gunfight at a Milwaukee Chucky Cheese parents can't drink there anymore. We never went to the Chucky Cheese but there was a place that just closed down called Old Wives' Tales here in Portland that had a playroom similar to the ones at Chucky Cheese. Basically the upstairs was where parents could be human and downstairs was where a kid could be a kid, if you know what I mean.

I think the show you're thinking of is actually the Spaceballs animated series. As awful as it was, it was one of my brother's college friends' first jobs as a show runner and kind of Mel Brooks' way of experimenting with humor hinted at in History of the World Pt. I and of course The Producers. Art Spigelman brings up the topic in Maus II as well, where he's haunted by making a cartoon out of his parents' struggles after the success of Maus I as it gets turned into a very Disney-fied movie through greedy Hollywood producers.
