He would actually be disqualified from You Beat Your Wife.

Followup:
He married his cousin, after five months her "behavior changed," so he killed her.

Then he was released after 4 years on amnesty. Then he married another woman, had two children, then they separated, and he killed her "accidently" with an axe, and was then released again on amnesty.

Turkey is a weird fucking place. I am not generalizing, because a man just admitted to murdering two women on TV and an entire audience politely applauded him off the stage.

"Turkey is a weird fucking place. I am not generalizing, because a man just admitted to murdering two women on TV and an entire audience politely applauded him off the stage."

It's called Islam.

dairyqueenlatifah
StanleyPain is correct; he's a product of an Islamic culture that's not the least bit unique to Turkey.

I remember about a month ago hearing a story on the radio about a man in Saudi Arabia who brutally tortured and killed his five year old daughter. His sentence? Four months in jail and he had to pay ,000 restitution.

Inflation of the value of human life.

Turkey is one of the least Islamified of all "Muslim countries."
They are a secular state. I wasn't speaking of Islamic culture, but of the treatment of this man, not only by the state, but by a room filled with people. Turkey IS weird man. Homosexuality is actually legal there and has been since the fucking 1850's, which is weird, and then you have "crimes of passion" (read: men murdering uppity wives) excusable with 4 years in jail.

oddeye
You are painting a very unfair portrait of this guy especially when you consider his sentence was so lenient because each wife had it coming to them. You don't have the facts so stop talking shit.

dairyqueenlatifah
Turkey is only secular on paper.

Callamon
Yes turkey is the least racist country at the cross burning.

"Turkey is only secular on paper."

So are we.

oddeye
By we, I assume you mean whatever country you are considered to belong to. Regardless, what does that have to do with anything mentioned here?

Spaceman Africa
"Islamic culture" that's like saying there's a Christian or White culture.

Rodents of Unusual Size
I kind of wish Islam would produce gangs of guys who would go around offing guys that get off from any punishment for shit like this. They have vigilantes like this guy that do "honor killings" but no one ever seeks revenge against these women killing assholes. I'm kind of shocked no one bothers to do this in the Islamic world, but then their culture is shit.

Ladies? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I know! I can't believe he's single!

According to this, after murdering his wife, he later killed a girlfriend but that was self defense/accident.
Riskbreaker
No wonder Turkey's number one sitcom to this day is "Everybody Love's Raymond, except his infidel dead wife"
oddeye
Great premise for a show, unfortunately ruined by the twist in the season 1 finale.

***SPOILER***
Turns out she loved him the whole time and was grateful to be purified by holy flame.
