Based upon this and everything friends of mine with a 4 year old are watching, I'm so glad I will never have children.

Almost half the comments are on the order of "This was my childhood. What the fuck was my childhood?"
So apparently, very young children love this abomination. So maybe it serves it's purpose. I'm going to go take a shower.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-05-23
These things are terrifying to us, as adults, simply because they look nothing like we expect of spiders. No really, I'd take a hairy, six-eyed hopper with fangs bigger than its own backside over these neon plastic abstractions, because I know it to be insignificant and awestruck by the enormous pink gods that tread through its dusty cosmos.
These things, however, are their own anthropomorphic reference point: they may live in a world of gargantuan, alien flora, but their own scale is the norm for them, and their perspective is all we see, and that's what unnerves us. We can't help imagining them to be as big as a person, with their freakishly quasi-human faces and hands.
Fuck, I get really chatty when I'm sleep-deprived. Stars for baby's horrific butt-jowls.
